In the final league match of the tri-nation tournament, Henry Olonga of Zimbabwe had surprised Tendulkar with a short delivery, getting him to fend at it and dismissing him. In the final, Tendulkar was ready for Olonga. He smashed 124 not out off just 92 balls, leading a 10-wicket rout, with Zimbabwe's 196 achieved in just 30 overs. It also saw Tendulkar end the year with 1894 ODI runs - which remains a record.
